October 2020

Residents are having an abolute nightmare. For some reason traffic congestion has become horrendous. It has created many hazardous situations. Resident photos from Oct 2020 are above.

We are very disappointed to see queues of lorries mounting up at the Wood Green / Chas Storer site again, and some very bad lorry driving going on in the roads leading up to the site. Chas Storer has hired a PR firm to try and pacify locals on this!

We have supported the site to change from this nuisance to housing. We estimate the site could be worth over 20m to the owners but it still looks like they want to stay put? We think it is because the site is licensed to operate 24/7 365 days of the year through their grandfathers rights Unless there is cohesive support from the entire community to lobby all councillors involved to try and reason with them it will only get worse from here.

PLEASE KEEP MAILING IN YOUR PHOTOS AS NAG SEND THEM ON.

Look how this lorry has had to pull onto the pavement to pass the adjacent lorry?? This is why locals moan about having to dodge these lorries especially on dark evenings as not all lorries see the pedestrians

Would you be able to see an unhelmeted school cyclist overtaking these lorries or think about the red lorry a driver overtaking and not seeing a cyclist on the road? Or just someone in non reflective clothing on the pavement?

NAG have witnessed this sort of disaster in the making many a time.We have a disaster waiting to happen. Keep your children helmeted and safe with reflector strips. Keep your photos coming in of the clog up of traffic outside the site if it is safe to take a photo. Thank you to several of our caring residents for these photos.

PLEASE LEAVE NORTHAW CHAS STORER!

At the moment we are trying to find a body in the council who will take responsibility for the traffic hazards at this site.

WELL ROAD IS A HAZARDOUS PLACE

28th October 2016. Sadly Chas Storer lorries themselves and other visiting lorries to their site are parking alongside the small piece of road that leads to a dangerous sharp bend in Well Road. Please if you see this can you safety stop and take a picture. This is being logged for the council and the police. We have requested the police have a word with the site owner too. There is a serious risk of death if an overtaking car hits an oncoming vehicle at the sharp bend (between the far white lorry and the cottage). This is careless parking from the lorries' point of view and in our opinion they should be fined at the very least. They often wait here for over 20 minutes. Any minutes we think are too many when considering public safety.

Other local groups are:
www.ncragb.uk - Northaw and Cuffley Residents Association
www.scangb.co.uk - Save Cuffley and Northaw Green Belt
which cover the wider issues in all the areas and would welcome your membership.

LORRY PHOTOS DRIVING CARELESSLY OR PARKING CARELESSLY ARE BEING COLLATED FOR THE COUNCIL
WE ALSO NEED PHOTOS OF THE CONGESTION CAUSED BY THESE LORRIES.

PLEASE ALSO COPY YOUR PHOTOS IN TO

spatialplanning@hertfordshire.gov.uk

who have a dedicated server for these photos.

Concerned residents have sent in lots of photos. Here you can see a lorry coming to Chas Storer having turned at the traffic  lights, but then it has had to  cross over the white lines due to the difficult manoeuvre, so the post van has pull right over to avoid a crash. Then it proceeds to go round the bend, crossing over the white lines. (Note some residents have had near misses here.)
WE WOULD LIKE CHAS STORER TO RELOCATE TO A SITE BY A DUAL CARRIAGEWAY.
